Where Mexico City, in coordination with our missionaries there, David & Blanca Gifford
What: We plan to help them with a children’s Vacation Bible School, and to engage in focused prayer with Christian leaders in the City.
Who: High School and above. *Youth under 18 will be need to be accompanied by a parent (or perhaps guardian). Spanish speakers (and learners) are especially welcome!
When: April 4-11, 2026 (spring break for most youth).
Why: Our main purpose is to learn about participation in God’s global mission by actively serving and praying with local Christians in a cross-cultural context.
Cost estimate: $2000/person. This will involve fund-raising. The Mission Committee will also provide assistance.
Activities:
– We will be guided by David & Blanca Gifford, veteran missionaries LaGrave supports.
– Assisting with a VBS-type kids’ club the Giffords have been working with
– Focused prayer with Christian leaders at their ministry sites
– Visiting and praying at sites that express the nature of Mexican Catholicism, such as the Virgin of Guadalupe (Google it)
Wanted:
Team Members:
· Ages High School and up
· With a heart for serving God and people
· Desiring to learn about cross-cultural service
· Spanish speakers are especially encouraged to apply
Team Leader
· Mature Christian and LaGrave member
· Some experience in short-term mission
· Has leadership skills
· Preferably a Spanish speaker
